Wardrobe Challenge Day 2

Here I am, day 2 on Jane's wardrobe challenge.

I am wearing the polka dot skirt from yesterday, and brown cardigan.

I am falling in love with layering skirts, adds so much more interest!

I am using a polka dot tie as a scarf, which I am sure I will wear as a belt at one point this week.

I am up to 4 accessories already, the brown sash from yesterday and maroon sparkle earings, today scarf/tie and basic gold earrings instead.

I'll have to take a close up at one point this week w/all my accessories.

Today was my first day of wearing tights for the season.

I was cold yesterday without them, and today it was

in the 40's when I got ready for work.

Yes, Fall is in the air!

Wardrobe challenge Day 1

Jane over at The Small Fabric of my Life is doing another wardrobe challenge.

10 items, 5 days.

I started yesterday, and here's my items.

2 skirts, 3 tops, 1 cardigan, 2 dresses, 2 shoes.

I will have to show the accessories later, I am short on time today!

I know, pretty dotty here :)

Tonight was the first game of the season, which meant the first

marching band night.

My son ROCKS!

I love watching him!

Good good things..so STUNNING!!!

Animal house..

Love this animal print t-shirt,

but was inspired to add another print to it, due to Kashmira

My scarf (as belt) has polka dots and floral print on it.

I should have taken a close up, but these are things you think of when you post, not then.

Still enjoying some fall sunshine, "last days" of toes showing.

And I promise no animals were hurt in taking my picture!

The tale of Two Skirts

There once was a red haired girl with two skirts.

Arent two better than one?

Yep!

These are both lightweight, and luckily we are having a very warm intro into fall.

So, toes are repainted, legs are still bare, and I still am trying to get some wear

out of summer skirts.

I loved the two patterns together, and will now look even more at my skirts to see what can be combined.

Some of my favorite things

Just some,

Turq sparkle shoes (The Man calls them my I dream of Jeannie shoes)

My most favorite bracelets, the daisy chain given to me by The Man-

(yep, I am sentimental!)

and the earrings, my grandmothers. 

I always remember her wearing them, and they were even near her chair when she passed away.

I just cut off the posts, and enjoy them.

And last...

The Library.

Yep..love it!

Where else can you get movies and craft books and a romance when you are in the mood?

I go weekly and get my fix!

More fun w/Upholstery Fabric

More fun with Uph fabric!

I have been thinking of new ideas to use with all the samples I  get from work (furniture store)

So....add trim, variety of fabric=Waaaaaaaaaaaaaala...new scarf!

I can wait to make more..I have PILES of fabric.

So much fabric, so little time this week!

New hair...and remodeled t-shirt

 

Aww....the joys of new cut hair :)

My sister did a great job! Totally worth the zucchini muffins I made and then some!

I also have had this t-shirt in my redo stash for a while.

I dyed it orange w/a smidge of brown a while ago, but hated the neck line.

So last night, cut strips out of another t-shirt and gathered them up and plunked them on.

Also wore my decopauged clogs, I LOVE THEM!

So felt very thrifty and creative today!

Okay..I tried something else.

Why can I not leave these alone?

I like the circles, but am not sure still!

Fall smells

 

My sister agreed to cut my hair for me today,

so I am going to "pay" her with these zucchini muffins (with extra spices in them)

I have to admit, I love fall baking. 

Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves...pumpkin, zucchini...

                                                                   All wonderful smells..

just cut her hair, and it reminded me how much I like my hair a bit shorter. 

So...off it goes again, 

I dont think I have had it cut for over 4 almost 5 months. 

It's time!

off to make another batch, 

My son is having "nerd fest" (his friends over)

tonight, and they might enjoy some of these also.....

Recycled..and going to be redone...

Okay...I showed you a "before" pic of these...

And I need more after, I am going to paint the rest of the soles, and

I still am not happy with the side detail, the beads arent cutting it.

I love this fabric, but feel like tearing the whole thing apart and starting over. 

Maybe I will be patient, set them aside and look at them later with "fresh" eyes.

Sunrise in my window

Good morning all.

Fall is in the air.

Feeling creative, and inspired to make things.

New ideas, new inspirations.

A new day, a new season, new opportunities.

The sun is shining thru my window.

New oppurtunity..new challenges

Like these shoes, that are waiting to be finished altered...

I am waiting to see what new challenges await me today.

I am starting my new part time job today, last week was orientation.

Its going to be fun. Working in retail (clothing) and I go back a loooooooooong way, 

so this is like an old friend.

But..the challenge of two jobs, my son, my love and social life..well, 

I am looking foward to seeing how this all works out.

Like a friend said (HI Jill)...

you never know what the future holds, 

not even the next second ahead of you.

So I am going to jump in and enjoy the ride !
