Thanksgiving Challenge

Thanksgiving Challenge:

For the next 30 (when I started on facebook)

days post something you are thankfull for.

I am thankfull for an sensitive,amazing, talented son.

And, as he knows, I love him more than coffee, and chocolate cake.

Still loving the dots

Here's me...still loving dots..

I picked up this dress/jumper for .50 cents last week..yep..such a deal!

I really like how this belt accentuated my waist...

and my shorter hair...sigh what a relief, feels more like "me"

Changes

What seems like a long time ago, 

I was in to get my haircut (the the bizzzilionth" time)

while I was pregnant..............

And my hairdresser said to me

" You cant change much in your life right now, but you can change your hair"

I have had a lot of changes in my life the last couple of weeks, 

and my hair...well, it can get shorter, and a lighter shade of red.

dont ya think thats better than a lighter shade of pale?

My son was kind enough to take my picture at the end of the day, after much needed change..

Did I show you these?

One problem, the shoes are tooo old!

I got a "one hit wonder" out of these.

Wore them one night, and the shoes starting falling apart.

(I know, how could they will all the wonderful dots glued on them?)

I need to make another pair, yes, I will use sturdier shoes this time.

This skirt and shrug I got in a big ol bag of goodies, from a stranger.

I know..interesting huh?

Well, freecycle is awesome.

You post  whatcha got, you respond..and go get it,

just that easy.

You can even post if you are looking for something.

I love it.

And love these two pieces.

Next time, I need to pose with less hips...geeez!

Wearing my loved ones

Somedays you need your loved ones around you..

so today I am "surrounded" by them.

The bolo from Grandpa, the ring from Mom,

The earrings from Dad, and the bracelet from The Man.

  Yep, I am sentimental.

 

Settling into Fall

Yep...settling into fall.

I love my "old lady" wool green coat, it fits so well, one would think it was made for me.

And, starting to enjoy wearing sweaters again,

and tights,

and lots of layers, so cozy!!

New dress :)

Got this dress at "Thrift Town" in Sacramento, with my sister on our way home from Bakersfield.

( yep an 11 hour drive) I think the dress was $2.99..such a deal. 

After wearing it today, I need to do a few alterations, too flared at the bottom. 

But otherwise, I loved with my favorite boots and ever faithful denim jacket.

Sorry for such a  face, it was a very long day, and I am still recovering from last week.

And....I have a bit of a cold..

Catching up

Just trying to catch up from last week.

I admit, it was a tough one.

I continued the week out with patterned tights.

(I can see I will looking for more, I love how they add texture and 

interest to an outfit)

And yesterday, Fall was here.

My first wearing of my boots.

I am sitting here and can hear the wind whistling.

I admit, I am embracing fall. 

I love these tights!

I am not an "argyle" girl, but love these tights!

and polka dots, well, that goes without saying..

I love this man.

Grandpa Dolan.

Long, full, amazing life.

Made me always feel loved.

Day 5 of Challenge

Day 5 of Jane's challenge..

I wore the polka dot skirt again, with a long sleeve brown t, tie as a belt and chunky Mary Janes to finish the week off. Topped it all off with one of my favorite denim pieces, and I only used 4 accessories-

My week was so hectic, I am glad I didnt have to think about what I was wearing.

Having 2 jobs, and this last week working over 30 at one, and 30 at the "part time" job

made for a very very long tiring week.

So thanks Jane for the challenge, it came at a perfect week!

Challenge Days 3 and 4

Day 3 and 4 of the Challenge..

Thursday was partially a day off, just spent running around.

Friday I went to my 2nd job, so the dress being worn again was great-who knew?

I did change the skirt underneath, and I love this jersey, so easy to wear.

I need more of these big sashes thou, really helps keep everything pulled together.
