I'm still around....Just enjoying life to the fullest!

Here's a couple of paintings, after not painting for over 25 years, its amazing! 

I am enjoying the freedom and the happiness it gives me to paint and explore.

Still reading blogs, and creating

 Yes, I am still around...I got some time off over New Years, and got to create! So had fun painting shoes, a decopauged frame (of me and the man at my work Christmas party), some shells for hor's devors, and a headband and clock. 

I really enjoyed myself, and this year I am going to be working on BALANCE.

So with that in mind, thought I would share. 

I have a ton of shoes to "recreate" and clothes clothes clothes 

all lined up to be altered. 

What a fun way to start the new year-creating!

My son graduated! And moved about 45 min away to attend Humboldt State, Living with one of his good friend Audrey!

Yep, my little bird is flying, and I am learning how to fly solo...

But ..The Man....

Has been keeping me busy, we have been having some awesome times!

Last weekend we went up to Tiller Oregon,and

enjoyed a wonderful visit with my parents.

I've had a chance to alter some items,

finding I am getting so girly!

And, new glassesO>O Yeah!

With a whole bedroom empty, time to move the sewing/decopauge

items in...and create!

Driving Time!

The day came, 

the music "man" 

had to learn a new thing to play- the car

Ate my lunch along the "Riverwalk",

read my book, closed my eyes, watched and listened to the ducks,

what a glorious day off. 

So restful, so peaceful, so thankful for the beauty, so good, so god!

Its my son's birthday!

And we were lucky enough to have a great dinner

with two awesome friends.

I am blessed! 

And now he's 18, do you think I can start charging him rent?

The luck of the Irish

I am a member of a yahoo group: Altered Couture, and 

I of course have to read blogs from the fab people in it.

Many layers

I never was much in to layering before...

but, loosing weight, and that it was 45 degrees yesterday 

(and on the coast w/our moisture-COLD!)

I have learned how. 

Plus I am missing some of my lighter weight clothes, and am working

on different ways to make them work.

 And more jewels for you to enjoy!

Catching up....Hi there!

Here's the outfit that went with the "birthday earrings" in the previous post.

Im still having fun with outfits, and still loving turquise, so thought I would give you peek.

Here I am on Valentines day at work. Sorry so washed out , took the pic in the front window at work, because, heck I matched the sofa!

This skirt was long and very full, so I chopped it off, leaving the lining longer and adding lace at the trim.

I 've had this lace bling for quite a while, and thought it helped jazz up up this plain jane.

But a skirt with pockets!!! Such a find!

And last, yep, my colored world. Dont you love how my outfit matches my new armoire?

I am totally addicted to more turquise in my wardrobe and surrounding me.

Bittin by the jewels

Yep, I've got the Jewelry Fever.

The first pic is my earring stash in lovely little , but cramped shell boxes that I have collected.

Too small, unorganized, yep a mess.

The second..ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Pretty, easy to find, plus a lovely way to display all my favorite shells and memories with my earbobs.

 

These earrings were my "birthday" earrings.

Every year I go to my favorite beady-bead shop

and make a pair of earrings. This year my son went 

with me (I know, how patient!) and helped me with these, and 

treated me to this pair. 

So along with being easy to access, I get 

to look at all my earrings, and the lovely memories that are associated to them. 

Hair hair everywhere

Just got a couple of inches cut off, and layered my hair..now I can have BIG HAIR!

Or not..

Love this vest, found for 99cents, from Torrid-great detail in the back.

I was like a bruise thou, all black and blue. 

Cant wait to have more fun with big earrings that show now.

Color my world

I have been coloring my world....You can see my dark brown armoire Before, and the wonderful colors After..and I am still painting! these are child size chairs, now lovely shades of green and turquise.

I have more to do, and am learning how to TRY to streamline.

Yeah, thanks to my g/friend, and awesome Birthday gift, and a wonderful computer repair place,

Just my neighbors and I enjoying a wonderful day, eating breakfast.

If I go out the back door, on the porch, they are there waiting for me. Can I take breakfast with them everyday? It seems like such a nice way to start days off doenst it?

If I only had a brain

Start singing from Wizard of Oz....

I felt like the scarecrow in this skirt, and I loved it.

I cut this skirt off, fringed the edge and added applique of upholstery fabric. And then, (while watching movies on new Years Day) I embroidered simple lines over the applique's.

I realized I could do a series of skirts...

If I only had a heart,

and courage!!

And, I guess I shouldnt forget Dorothy!

1st day of 2010

2009, I never could have predicted all that would happen.
Only time will tell what will unfold this next year, Im not even going to try and guess. I never even thought I would go to a foreign country on a mission this last year, but I did, so who knows what will unfold in 2010?

I got to ring in the new year with a good friend of mine.
Plus got to enjoy my new to me strapless dress (bought for $4, with the tags still on it!)One taken before dancing, and one after...
Great way to ring in a new year.

So...Best of wishes for this next year. May we all have a year full of peace, warmth and lots of love.

Time moves so fast...

Alas, the curse of the computer

Well, it happens to all of us:

THE CURSE OF THE COMPUTER.

Yep, my laptop is acting so funky, I cant even sign on.

So....Dragged out my sons' hand me down, and am using it.

So.....I am behind on posting.

And of course, I work retail.

2 retail jobs.

And yes, whew it's gotten busy at both.

So here's a few pics of me from the last week or so..
